Welcome to my site!

I am Amina Quraishi, an Artist, an Educator, and a blessed mom of two littles. I hold an HBSc in Psychology from the University of Toronto and an Advanced Diploma in Art & Art History. Currently based in Seattle, Washington my work reflects my connection with nature and my study of traditional Islamic art and architecture. Islamic geometric and biomorphic art elements are rooted in the patterns found in our universe, both at cosmic and everyday levels. Just look around— you’ll see geometric patterns in nature and in the planetary orbit maps.

I started teaching in 2017, to share my joy and fascination with geometric and biomorphic patterns. My greatest pleasure of being an educator is that I learn best by teaching, sharing and connecting with people. I create programs and workshops for many organizations including Seattle Public Schools through The Creative Advantage, King County Library System, Seattle Asian Art Museum, and Seattle Children’s Museum.

Through my art and educational programs, I aim to promote diverse artistic representation and implement inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices.

Thank you for visiting! I hope you find inspiration in the beauty of Islamic art and the patterns that shape our world. I look forward to connecting with you.
